Every Student needs to complete the band handbook each year. It covers everything you need to know to be successful in band at Bainbridge High School. It also serves as an agreement between the individual members and the collective; that everyone will work to make our team as great as it can be. It’s vital that everyone in our program is on the same page about growing and working hard together.
The Bainbridge Island School District has decided that Remind will be the only platform for informal teacher communications. While Remind is not as user friendly as other other platforms, it does allow the district to access all communications that happen on it. Sign up for all the applicable Remind groups. When you setup your application settings, be mindful that Remind will be used on weekend band field trips, so your app settings will affect your ability to get updates while in transit with the band.
The band has only been using Google Classroom for a year, but it will increasingly become an important vehicle for communication and assessment. Please sign up for the relevant classroom groups.
We are lucky to be able to provide each and every student in our program with a subscription to Noteflight; a nifty music notation program. Students can learn a lot about music through transcribing, arranging, and composing music on Noteflight. Occasionally, we will have some assignments on Noteflight, but generally I budget it simply to give students access to a powerful music making tool.
Sheet Music Libraries
Have you or your student lost some sheet music? How about a technique packet? Your pep band music? Find a replacement here. Students are given a copy of their music in class, and they are expected to have their music in all rehearsals.
