Seahawks Pep Rally

On October 31st, 2016, I received the following email from Broch Bender, a communications staffer with the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Hi Chris,

Washington State Ferries is hosting our second annual Seahawks floating pep rally in honor of ESPN’s Monday Night Football on Nov. 7. We had phenomenal success with this event last year on the Seattle/Bremerton run (see attached event results PDF). This year we’re hosting the pep rally on Monday, Nov. 7, aboard the 2:55pm sailing from Bainbridge Island to Seattle and would LOVE to feature a band from Bainbridge High School. It could be the marching band or another band, either one works great.

Because we are on a tight deadline to put this event together – and we’d really like to host BI High School -we can hold this exclusive opportunity to BI until 1pm today. Please call me on my mobile with any questions or to discuss this further, ___-___-____.

Things progressed very quickly as we immediately agreed to participate in the event.

On November 3rd, I received the following email from Ariel Van Cleave, a reporter with KNKX (Formerly KPLU)

Morning Chris,

I'm a reporter for KNKX (formerly KPLU) and I'd like to put together a quick little story about the band playing on the ferry leading up to Monday night's Hawks game. Is there any way you could send me some audio of the band practicing? I couldn't find much online, but I wanted to preview it.
